I’ve never been more uncomfortable and humbled in my life
About sharing a podcast on how white people have over-sexualized and dehumanized black men (and women) for centuries and how these sexual traumas of the past are still affecting black communities
But, my discomfort is simply white privilege in action - which I will NOT buy into or allow to stop me from bringing this epically important discussion to the table and bringing the shadow to light
After all, my discomfort is nothing in comparison to the unsafety BIPOC people carry in their bodies day in and day out
Which is why my heart has broken open and grieved tears of grief and sadness for all the black men and women in my life who’ve been uncomfortable and unsafe in their skin for centuries
Who’ve been over-sexualized, forced to feel less of a man, and dehumanized
Enough of it already!
Today, I brought on Davondra Brown - a speaker, author and a nationally Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES®) - to talk about how social injustice shows up in sexuality and what you can do about it
